On 1942-06-01, Pilot J A G Gordon (Wing Commander, RAF) with servicenumber 36075 flew a Spitfire Vb with serial BL939 for this duty: Circus 179. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss are unknown. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 65. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Gordon: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Runnymede Memorial, United Kingdom.
