On Friday, 31 January 1941, (a part of) the aircraft of the 109 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Duisburg in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near L Staughton. One of the crew members was Flight Sergeant W R Wade. He departed for his mission at 3:59. He flew with a Mosquito (type IX, with serial ML915 and code HS-). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Saturday, 01 February 1941.

The date on this report is not correct. 109 Sqd got its first Mosquito (DK300) from 105 Sqd. on 21/07/1942 for Oboe test flights. At the date given for this incident they were flying Wellingtons. Moreover they did not move to Little Staughton...
The date on this report is not correct. 109 Sqd got its first Mosquito (DK300) from 105 Sqd. on 21/07/1942 for Oboe test flights. At the date given for this incident they were flying Wellingtons. Moreover they did not move to Little Staughton until 2nd April 1944. I suspect the date is wrong and the rest of the detail may be correct, but I have been unable to identify Flt Sgt Wade or any account of this loss.
