Avro Lancaster III (ND507 LQ-C) on a mission to Trappes on 1944-06-03
On Friday, 02 June 1944, (a part of) the aircraft of the 405 squadron (RCAF), took off for a mission to Trappes in France from a station (airfield) in or near Gransden Lodge.
One of the crew members was Flight Lieutenant G L Court RCAF. He departed for his mission at 23:04.
He flew with a Avro Lancaster (type III, with serial ND507 and code LQ-C). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Saturday, 03 June 1944.
Norma OToole: My uncle, Pilot Officer Norman Johnston RCAF was the Wireless Operator/Air Gunner, killed on Lancaster ND507 on 3/4 Jun 1944.

- Warrant Officer Leslie A. McCrae, RCAF, Rear Gunner; killed;
- Pilot Officer David A. Kelley, RCAF, Flight Engineer, killed.
All are remembered on this, the 70th anniversary of the crash.
Lancaster ND507 was shot down by Messerschmitt Me110 piloted by German Fighter pilot Frithjof Fensch.
