Avro Lancaster II (LL687 EQ-M) crash near Spreckens on 1944-07-29
On Friday, 28 July 1944, (a part of) the aircraft of the 408 squadron (RCAF), took off for a mission to Hamburg in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near Linton on Ouse.
One of the crew members was Flight Lieutenant G Croucher MiD RCAF. He departed for his mission at 22:38.
He flew with a Avro Lancaster (type II, with serial LL687 and code EQ-M). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Saturday, 29 July 1944.
Jean-Claude Charlebois: We are commissioning a memorial in memory of this crew. It will be erected in Spreckens, Germany in July 2017 and we started a fund raising campaign to help make this happen. LEST WE FORGET.
