The story

On 1944-08-18, Pilot R A Brown (Flying Officer, RCAF) service number J/21136, flew Typhoon Ib serial MN375 (squadron code 5V-S) for this duty: bombing operation. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft: Flak damage, pilot injured in legs. Successful emergency landing at Carpiquet airfield.  Aircraft repaired and retruned to service.  This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 439. The location for the map is Carpiquet. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Cote: he recovered in hospital and returned to service a month later.
