AEAF attack airfield Leeuwarden
Two Mosquito's did not return. They were members of the 151 and 605 Sqn.
F/L Whitten-Brown, pilot and F/L Victor Brewis the navigator crashed near Scharwoude in the IJsselmeer. Their target was the airfield of Leeuwarden.
Added a picture of F/L Victor Brewis, a Mosquito navigator with 605 Squadron. He was killed, with his pilot F/L Arthur Whitten-Brown, on 6 June 1944 on an intruder mission. The circumstances of the crash remain unknown. Both are buried at Hoorn cemetery. Picture courtesy of Mr. Velzeboer, who tends the graves of the airmen at this cemetery.
