Flight of Typhoon Ib MN257 and Flying Officer R W Doidge on 1944-06-07
On 1944-06-07, Pilot R W Doidge (Flying Officer, RCAF) with servicenumber J/26406 flew a Typhoon Ib with serial MN257 D for this duty: Ramrod. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Abandoned near Caen. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 440. The location for the map is Caen, France. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Doidge: he evaded. There is no commemoration location known.
