We are the daughters of 2 World War II combat veterans beginning a project to collect, examine, and eventually present stories about our fathers.
Since both of our fathers have passed away, the stories we are hoping to gather and tell are the stories of who they were as men and as fathers and how being in the war affected them.
There are so many oral histories and oral history projects of these veteran?s war experiences that we thought we?d try to tell it from the perspective of the sons and daughters of these men.
It?s a different and filtered view but one whose time has come with the graying of the boomer generation.
Just how did being in the war impact our dads and what did they tell us about it- if anything?
What did we know and how did it impact our families and our lives growing up?
We?d like to request participation in our project by sons and daughters of World War II vets.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us
