"Alamo Division" or "Tough Ombres"

 90th Infantry Division United States

The division insignia consists of a monogrammatic red "T" and "O" on a square olive drab background. It was adopted by the 90th Division during World War I because most of its original personnel were drafted from Texas and Oklahoma.

Arrived European Theatre of Operations on 5 April 1944.

Arrived Continent 8 June 1944 and the Division entered combat at 10 June 1944. The first elements arrived on June 6th 1944. This day Pfc. David F. Atcuson (Private First Class) was the first to fall, the first among many in the 90th to give his life.
