The story
Our Division, meanwhile, sidestepped northward seven or eight miles, the Battalion occupying the small village of Witzhave. We spent no time here, for we had orders to go on next day to take up billets in Ahrensburg. Peace was now very much in the air. Whole convoys of Germans arrived along the roads, driving themselves into captivity unguarded.
