The story

Meanwhile, "A", "B" and "D" Companies moved forward and crossed the Zuid-Willemsvaart Canal (location) to support the attack. They too met concentrated fire from numerous well-prepared positions and pill-boxes but advanced swiftly to secure their objectives despite the stubborn resistance. One officer and one enlisted men were killed during the night's operations and one officer and fourteen enlisted men were wounded. Fourteen prisoners of war were taken.
