The story
On Thursday, 15 March 1945, Handley Page Halifax serial NP689 (QO-M) of 432 squadron (RCAF), took off for a mission to Hagen Gemany from a station in East Moor UK. The aircraft departed for the mission at 17:07 Friday, 16 March 1945. It did not return from the mission.
The bomber was shot down by flak near the target. It's crew was composed of:
Flying Officer S. Bonter RCAF - Killed in crash.
Sgt D. Colquhoun RAF - Killed in crash.
Flying Officer H. Vachon RCAF– Parachuted, injured, POW.
Flying Officer A. Hinchcliffe RCAF– Parachuted, injured, POW.
Warrant Officer 2nd class E. Anderson RCAF– Parachuted, injured, POW.
Pilot Officer D. Lawton RCAF - Killed in crash.
Pilot Officer T. Scott RCAF - Parachuted safely but was murdered by Gestapo on 3 April 1945.
