The story

On Sunday, 12 May 1940, (a part of) the aircraft of the 15 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Maastricht in Netherlands from a station (airfield) in or near Alconbury.
One of the crew members was Flying Officer T G Bassett. He departed for his mission at an unknown time. The plane crashed near Gronsveld.
He flew with a Bristol Blenheim (type IV, with serial L8847 and code LS-). His mission (attack at the bridges of the Alberkanaal) and of the other crew members was planned for Sunday, 12 May 1940.
