On 1942-12-04, Pilot B H Nickel (Flight Sergeant, RCAF) service number R/99760 flew Spitfire IX with serial BS317 for this duty: Rodeo. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: shot down by aircraft of JG26. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 401. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Nickel: he was killed. Last seen in a spin crashing into the channel just off the French coast, body never recovered.He is commemorated at: Runnymede Memorial, United Kingdom.
