The story

On 1944-12-24, Pilot K F Sage (Flight Lieutenant, RCAF) servicenumber C/1191 flew Typhoon Ib serial MN894 for this duty: bombing operation. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Crashed near Mayen. Shot down by flak near Mayen. After attacking various targets, they went down on some vehicles just outside the little village of Schonberg, inside, Belgium where terrific flak was encountered. He received a hit between Mayan and Monreal, west of Keblens and flicked on his back, then crashed into the deck, burning up. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 439. The location for the map is Mayen Germany. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Sage: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium.
