| Incident | Hit by flak on approach to target, aircraft badly damaged. The pilot managed to turn the aircraft westwards and after flying for an hour, slowly loosing height, he ordered the crew to bale out. All three landed safely and returned to Hemswell two days later. The Pilot was killed when the aircraft crashed near Finnevaux, Belgium |
