Market Garden Market Garden is a work in the cycle of compositions of Back to Normandy (www.backtonormandy.org), composed by Fred Vogels (www.fredvogels.nl). In this composition Vogels keeps up the memory for those who fought in the battle of Market Garden. During this battle many allied soldiers were captured or killed: a battle that finally is remembered as “a Bridge to Far”. The music exists in several symbolic parts: Remember the veterans, Amazing Grace and the Last Post. This music can be played at any occasions, like commemorations for the fallen, or reunions of war veterans. The music of Market Garden can also be played at other occasions but World War 2 commemorations because of the used themes of all times like Amazing Grace and the Last Post.. The score can played - when possible - together with bagpipes, an instrument that had a very important role during the invasion and liberation of Western Europe. Technical information: The music is easy to play for all levels.
The composition Market Garden, is specially tributed to the Airgunners of Dronten, the city where I live. This music can be can be listened freely here. The music is composed by the webmaster Fred Vogels of this website.
In the music the veterans are remembered who fought in the Netherlands and many of them gave their lives for our freedom. Specially remebered are the Polish forces who fought at Arnhem (Market Garden) under command of General Sosabowski. I truly hope that he and his men finally get the honour they deserve.
